Ivie is a specialist in the energy sector with over 10 years’ experience, particularly in the gas and power sector where she has been involved in a wide array of complex transactions for multiple clients across the value chain from the inception of the privatisation process of the Nigerian electricity industry.


Ivie is also a gas to power legal expert. Given her in-depth knowledge of the energy sector from a legal, regulatory and commercial perspective, she is a Legal and Regulatory Consultant for Energy Market and Regulatory Consultants (EMRC) (formerly Mercados EMI), a specialist consultancy firm focused on energy markets, regulation, transactions and commercial issues across the globe.  Ivie is also a Legal Expert for AARC (based in Dublin, Ireland) and is providing specialist support on the ‘Regulatory Strengthening and Tariff Development Project’ for the Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission initiated by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (USA).


She possesses significant experience on a local, regional and international scale. Ivie also has significant experience across the oil and gas sector, aviation sector and capital/infrastructure projects. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has been involved in resolving complex disputes amongst key players and stakeholders in the energy industry. An aspiring PhD candidate, Ivie hopes to develop legal, institutional and regulatory framework(s) to stimulate investments in energy infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa whilst addressing the legal bottlenecks from a dispute resolution standpoint. Ivie also has vast experience in Commercial Law Transactions, Due Diligence and Transaction Advisory, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance and PPP Transactions having advised local and international investors on innovative PPP models for a bouquet of projects. She heads the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Projects divisions.
