PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Sotonye Etomi is a partner with George Etomi & Partners where he heads the Port Harcourt Office. His practice focuses on Commercial Law, Energy Law, Arbitration, Banking, Insurance Law, Taxation Law, Litigation and Secretarial Practice. He has a special interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has been actively involved in mediating between companies and their host communities in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria.
Sotonye Etomi is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and International Bar Associations. He is also member of our Corporate Re-structuring group and has extensive experience in advising on negotiated restructurings.
He is currently on national assignment with the Federal Government of Nigeria as Special Assistant to the Honorable Minister of
Transport.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Graduated from the University of Lagos in 1984 (B.A Hons.);
University of Lagos (LL.B Hons.1987).
Admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1988.
